Mayor Ed Malloy Covers for City Administrator

Fairfield city administrator, John F Brown, was recently accused of not discharging the duties of his office. A letter to the editor of the Fairfield Ledger outlined several of Mr. Brown's shortcomings. Subsequent to the printing of this opinion piece, Mr. Brown was accused of harassment against the writer of the letter. (I guess the truth hurts)

Mr. Mayor (Edward Malloy) spent a good bit of the next morning in the HyVee Deli, trying to convince the letter writer to drop the harassment complaint against the mayors beloved city admin.
How touching it is to have the Mayor stand up for an unsatisfactory city employee? Malloy obviously doesn't want to deal with the problem employee and he doesn't want the world to know that Fairfield has a bunch of "dirty little secrets". Atta boy!

Comments:
That's sad, I always thought Ed was a good leader. A true leader would take care of the problem and not try to silence a critic. My eyes have been opened. Too bad no one is running against him!

Fairfield needs selfless leadership. Leadership that accepts responsiblity for mistakes and honestly seeks to correct errors. Leadership that isn't so defensive and arrogant.

Fairfield needs more George Bailey and less Mr. Potter. Fairfield leaders always seem mad instead of happy, and it shows.

The one thing I will never do is take the cowardly way out and comment anonymously. For all I know, these comments are all coming from one and the same person who anonymously hosts this web site. I also believe in "hearing both sides of the issue" before laying judgment. So until anyone concerned contacts me about the contents of a private meeting that was violated by the people I had it with, you only have one side. Feel free to contact me by phone or email me mayormalloy@fairfieldcityhall.com Mayor Ed Malloy

I hav'nt been to FF for a few years, but as I recall the HyVee deli is not a private meeting room, maybe you should think of that next time. Maybe nothing has been "violated", or did they close the deli for your use??
#2 You don't deny witness tampering, hmmm.
#3 you have the floor and the audience, make your case - give your side.

LOL

LOL? I'm sure that you must think you are are being supremely intellectual.

I don't know Mayor, it certainly seems to me that the council has been dismissing legitimate concerns raised by upstanding citizens. Sidewalk Fan's argument on sidewalk law in particular appears legally correct, besides just plain common sense.

I can recall several "non-cowards" publically attempting to address the council on sidewalks. Good and reasonable people, that where dismissed and even shut down.

Who's not trying to get along on this issue?
